Purple Frog has just finished the build and launch of a new ecommerce website for Pages, a leading supplier of professional catering equipment.
Pages was founded 175 years ago and became part of the Chinacraft Group during the 1970’s. They have built a reputation for supplying creative and innovative product ranges for hotels, restaurants, bars, cruise ships and caterers. They bring together world class design & manufacturing talent and can offer a complete product development solution from the inception of the idea to product delivery.
Our brief was to create a store that had full functionality, enabled easy searching and had a menu system that allowed chefs and professional caterers to find products quickly. The site had to reflect the correct image for Pages as a premium supplier who provide more than just products to their customer base, but also allow those that just want to purchase online to have the opportunity to buy those exclusive products only available from Pages. Although the site is primarily intended as a trade site requiring registration in order to view pricing, consumers can also register and purchase from the site.
The site has a built in loyalty scheme enabling regular purchasers to acquire rewards points and therefore earn discounts against future orders. The scheme can be used as a method for product promotion, and we have built in full analytics so that user profiles can be built up over time enabling Pages to tailor offers to specific groups or individual users.
Haydn Klein a director of Pages said, “The site has the objective of opening new markets for the company to contribute to Pages’ continued growth. Purple Frog has helped in guiding the project team to ensure that functionality and design work hand in hand. We are in no doubt that their continued input in the further development and marketing of the site will be invaluable.”
The site can be viewed at www.pagescatering.com
